UPDATED COVID-19 TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Latest update 2 March 2022

Any payments for new bookings travelling in 2022, will have the accommodation value refunded on the below basis:

  • The Government in the guest’s country of origin imposes a travel ban and guests are unable to travel.
  • The Zimbabwe Government imposes a travel ban and guests are unable to travel.
  • International flights are cancelled due to Government regulations relating to the Covid pandemic and guests are unable to travel.
  • Guests are prevented from boarding a flight on account of health screening (written proof required).
  • Guests have contracted COVID-19 prior to arrival OR while in-country and unable to travel (positive test result copy required).
  • If the property must close due to COVID-19 reasons and is unable to fulfil their obligation for clients’ travel.

All cancellation costs will be waived, no admin fees will be charged, and all monies will be refunded (excluding bank charges) regardless of the cancellation period.

Please note: We will deal with every request fairly on a case-by-case basis and do reserve the right to change our policy at any point.

N.B We highly recommend that travellers take out suitable travel insurance, that covers COVID-19 or similar conditions, before travel.

 

STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS  – VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE, VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI CLUB, VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI SUITES AND LOKUTHULA LODGES 

 FOREIGN INDEPENDENT TRAVELLERS (FITs) 

 Reservations comprising of 1 to 9 paying guests per night.

 FOREIGN INDEPENDENT TRAVELLERS BOOKING POLICY 

  • Bookings/reservations will be held on a provisional basis until 30 days prior to the date of arrival. If not confirmed in writing and payment has not been received, the booking will be released automatically.
  • Confirmed booking/reservation definition: the property has received confirmation in writing and full payment within stipulated time frames.
  • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher or email is required to confirm a booking/reservation.

FOREIGN INDEPENDENT TRAVELLERS PAYMENT POLICY 

  • A 20% refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking/reservation. Refundable up to 31 days prior to stay.
  • The guest may postpone their trip free of charge 30 days prior to travel.
  • Full pre-payment is required 30 days prior to the date of arrival in order to confirm the booking/reservation.
  • For bookings made less than 30 days prior to arrival date full payment within 72 hours is required.
  • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher is required 30 days prior to arrival date to confirm the booking/reservation.

FOREIGN INDEPENDENT TRAVELLERS (FITs) CANCELLATION POLICY FOR REASONS OTHER THAN COVID RELATED INCIDENTS

  • Prior to date of arrival:
  • More than 30 days – no cancellation fee. 29 -21 days: 50%. 20 – 7 days: 75%. Less than 6 days: 100%.
  • The above percentages are based on the total value of the individual reservation as booked.
  • During High Season, we reserve the right to charge FULL payment on any bookings cancelled 20 days or less prior to arrival.
  • A valid voucher or full payment is required 30 days prior to date of arrival for these High Season months to confirm such bookings.
  • NO SHOWS – No shows attract a 100% cancellation fee

REFUNDS

Should you cancel a booking and request a refund, please note that the refunded amount will be the amount paid LESS the bank and relevant statutory charges to effect the transaction.

GROUP TRAVELLER

  • Reservations comprising of 10 or more paying guests per night.

GROUP BOOKING POLICY

 Group bookings will only be held on a provisional basis as follows:

  • 91 days or more prior to arrival – booking/reservation will be held for 21 days and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed.
  • Between 90 and 61 days prior to arrival – booking/reservation will be held for 14 days and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed.
  • Less than 60 days prior to arrival – booking/reservation will be held for 7 days and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed.
  • Confirmed booking/reservation definition: the property has received full payment / deposit payment.
  • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher or email is required to confirm a booking/reservation.
  • The valid voucher or email confirming the booking/reservation is acceptance of the 10% non-refundable deposit.

GROUP PAYMENT POLICY

  • A 20% refundable deposit is required to confirm a booking/reservation. Refundable up to 61 days prior to stay.
  • Full pre-payment is required 60 days prior to the date of arrival in order to confirm the booking/reservation.
  • For bookings made less than 60 days prior to arrival date full payment within 72 hours is required.
  • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher is required 60 days prior to arrival date to confirm the booking/reservation.
  • The valid voucher or email confirming the booking/reservation is acceptance of the 20% refundable deposit.

GROUP CANCELLATION POLICY

    • Prior to date of arrival:
    • More than 60 days – no cancellation fee. 60 – 31 days: 25%. 30 -21 days: 50%. 20 – 7 days: 75%. Less than 6 days: 90%.
    • The above percentages are based on the total value of the individual reservation as booked.
    • During High Season, we reserve the right to charge FULL payment on any bookings cancelled 31 days prior to arrival.
    • NO SHOWS – No shows attract a 100% cancellation fee.

    GROUP CONCESSION (does not apply to Tour Series and Special Contracted Rates): Complimentary concession will be made to the agent/operator as follows:

    For every 15 paying guests –  1 complimentary guest up to a

    maximum of 4 complimentary guests. This applies to accommodation and meals only.

    For every 15 paying guests – 1 complimentary guest up to a

    maximum of 2 complimentary guests. This applies to accommodation and meals only.

    TOUR SERIES AND SPECIAL CONTRACTED RATES 

    • Terms and conditions and cancellation policies are negotiated directly with management.

     SPECIAL NOTES

    • The ‘Pay 2 Stay 3’ deal and Super Deals are only applicable to FIT bookings and not combinable with any other special or special negotiated rates. This applies to all Africa Albida Tourism Properties.

     

    TERMS AND CONDITIONS – MAKUWA KUWA RESTAURANT, THE BOMA – DINNER & DRUM SHOW, THE BOMA CAFÉ

     

    FIT BOOKING AND PAYMENT METHOD

    • Reservations can be booked and paid for in advance or charged to the guest’s account.
    • Credit cards accepted: VISA, AMEX, and MasterCard.
    • Direct transfer is our preferred method of payment and must be paid in the currency as invoiced into relevant accounts as stated on the invoice/statement.
    • All incoming payments should be gross and bank charges are for the payee’s account.

     

    GROUP BOOKING POLICY FOR 15 OR MORE PAYING GUESTS

    • Group bookings will only be held on a provisional basis as follows:
    • 45 days or more prior to arrival – reservation will be held for 14 days and thereafter released automatically if not confirmed.
    • Exclusive bookings will require 100% prepayment 45 days prior to date of arrival.
    • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher or email is required to confirm a booking/reservation.

     

    GROUP PAYMENT POLICY

    • Full pre-payment is required 45 days prior to the date of arrival in order to confirm the booking/reservation.
    • For bookings made less than 45 days prior to arrival date full payment within 72 hours is required.
    • In the case of tour operators who have authorized credit arrangements with Africa Albida Tourism a valid voucher is required 45 days prior to arrival date to confirm the booking/reservation.

REFUNDS

Should you cancel a booking and request a refund, please note that the refunded amount will be the amount paid LESS the bank and relevant statutory charges to effect the transaction.

 

MAKUWA-KUWA RESTAURANT  THE BOMA – DINNER & DRUM SHOW THE BOMA CAFÉ
GROUP CONCESSION (does not apply to Tour Series and Special Contracted Rates): Complimentary concession will be made to the agent/operator as follows:

VALUE ADDED TAX AND TOURISM LEVY 

  • All accommodation rates are quoted inclusive of Government Tourism Levy and VAT as legislated by the Government.
  • Food and Beverage rates include VAT as legislated by the Government. 

THE BELOW SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS ARE APPLICABLE TO ALL PROPERTIES AND RESTAURANTS

MEDICAL AND TRAVEL INSURANCE 

  • 24-hour security and medical air rescue service facility is on call. It is the responsibility of each guest to ensure they have adequate medical and travel insurance cover for the duration of their trip.

CHANGES TO RATES 

  • We reserve the right to amend rates subject to any changes in government legislation but will honour any confirmed bookings at the existing agreed rates.

(Confirmed booking definition: the property has received full payment or is holding a valid voucher from an authorized credit account holder).  

FORCE MAJEURE

  • Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) shall not be obliged to perform any obligation under the Contract if such performance is rendered impossible, substantially more difficult or delayed as a result of Acts, Orders or Regulations issued by Central or Local Government, industrial disputes (whether official or unofficial), war, riots, hostilities, flood, fire, accident, act of God, epidemic, failure or shortage of supplies or from any other cause, event or occurrence which AAT is either unable to prevent having due regard to its interests. AAT shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost or delay arising from or as a result of such non-performance. The onus is on the operator to ensure that their clients are in possession of adequate travel insurance.
